Ram Mohan (26 August 1931 – 11 October 2019) was an Indian animator, title designer, and design educator, who was also known as the father of Indian Animation and was a veteran in the Indian animation industry, who started his career at the Cartoon Films Unit, Films Division of India, Government of India in 1956. He was chairman and chief creative officer at Graphiti Multimedia, a Mumbai-based animation company which was established in 1995, and later he also established the Graphiti School of Animation in 2006.
He was awarded a lifetime achievement award at the 2006 Mumbai International Film Festival and was awarded the Padma Shri the fourth-highest civilian award given by the Government of India in 2014
With a unique combination of technical and creative flair, Tilak began his working career in the software industry and wrote eight books on computer programming. He co-founded Graphiti and has directed over 500 advertising, short films and animated feature films. He provides the director’s perspective on all properties Graphiti is developing. Furthermore, he has perfected the fine art of balancing Production budgets and Creative efficacy. He also has exceptional skills in managing creative and production resources.
A computer engineer with a specialization in Image Processing, Munjal is the co-founder of Graphiti. He has vast experience in the Media sector, including directing and producing TV Commercials, short films, and animated feature films, creating interactive apps and designing audiovisual user experiences. He combines his understanding of entertainment with his insight into filmmaking to bring a producer’s perspective. He has also been an evangelist of Original Content in the Indian Animation Industry. Not only that, but he is the face of Graphiti in the international market. Likewise, he is the Co-Chair of the Animation, VFX, Gaming and Comics Sector of FICCI and is helping mould policies to bring rapid growth in the Animation, VFX, Gaming and Comics sectors. He is also an Advisory Board Member of the Media & Entertainment Skills Council.
From IIT and IIM, he has a wide professional management experience in a variety of industries.
With entrepreneurial exposure launching IT companies, promoting NASSCOM, setting up a comprehensive Mahatma Gandhi web archive and managing a business relationship with Hewlett Packard, He looks after financial strategy and drives initiatives in training and mobile solutions, etc.
